Dynamic Blue Roof

Blue-green roofs have the exceptional quality of storing a lot of rain water - much more than their ‘regular’ green roof brothers and sisters. Right under the green top layer, a system of infiltration crates is installed that collects and stores all the rain water. Via the substrate layer and a filter fleece, the water is filtered and distributed to the plants. Just like with green roofs, the water flow is stalled or even prevented from reaching the sewer. This reduces the risk of sewer overflow and increases the value of rainwater. If the rain water is stored, it can be used for different purposes like flushing toilets.
